Review Guidelines

Guidelines to keep Pech Pechoo reviews helpful, honest, and based on real experiences

Last Updated: August 21, 2026

At Pech Pechoo, we want reviews to be helpful, honest, and based on real experiences. These guidelines explain what we accept, what we don't, and how we moderate reviews to keep the community fair and safe. By submitting a review, you agree to follow these guidelines.

1. Your review must be based on your first-hand experience

We only accept reviews written by someone who personally:

  • Attended the event

  • Watched the performance

  • Visited the venue

  • Interacted with the organiser

This ensures reviews remain authentic and trustworthy.

We do not accept:

  • Reviews written on behalf of someone else

  • "My friend told me…" statements

  • Second-hand or rumour-based claims

  • Reviews based on media reports or social media posts

2. Be honest, factual, and respectful

What you can include:

  • Specifics about your experience (sound, lighting, organisation, performance, vibe, hygiene, seating, timing, entry lines, crowd, atmosphere)

  • Your personal opinions ("the music was too loud for me", "I felt rushed")

  • Constructive feedback

  • Tips for other attendees

What you cannot include:

  • False or misleading statements

  • Unverified accusations

  • Gross exaggeration written as fact

  • Attacks on character (e.g., insults, name-calling)

3. No accusations of crime, fraud, corruption, or illegal behaviour

Unless you have verifiable evidence, do not accuse:

  • Artists

  • Organisers

  • Venues

  • Staff

  • Event promoters

Of things like:

  • Fraud

  • Theft

  • Criminal behaviour

  • Lies or deception

  • Illegal activity

  • Safety breaches

These claims can be defamatory under Australian law.

You may express your impression if framed as opinion:

βœ… "It seemed like the vocals were not live"

❌ "The whole concert was fake playback and they lied to the audience"

4. Avoid offensive, hateful or discriminatory language

We don't allow:

  • Swearing

  • Insults

  • Attacks on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality

  • Harassment or threats

  • Abusive tone directed at staff, artists, organisers, or other attendees

5. Keep it relevant to the event

A review should focus on your experience at the event.

We may remove reviews that are:

  • About unrelated personal issues

  • Primarily about politics or religion (unless directly part of your experience)

  • About business policies only (e.g., refund rules, general ticketing terms)

  • About unsuccessful attempts to contact the organiser or venue

  • About news reports you saw online

Examples we accept:

  • "The event started late and I found the entry line confusing."

  • "Sound was good but I wish the seating was spaced out more."

Examples we reject:

  • "Someone told me the organiser doesn't pay the artist."

  • "The venue is owned by X and they support Y political movement."

6. No incentives, payments or conflicts of interest

You must not:

  • Receive money, gifts, or discounts to write a review

  • Be the organiser/artist/venue writing about your own event

  • Be a competitor trying to damage another organiser's reputation

We take manipulation seriously.

7. Keep personal information out of reviews

Do not include:

  • Phone numbers

  • Email addresses

  • Social media handles

  • Private details about staff or attendees

  • Photos of people without their permission

We may redact or remove such information.

8. Accuracy matters

Please double-check:

  • Dates

  • Names of artists

  • Venue names

  • Ticket types

  • Descriptions of your experience

If something changed or is unclear, stick to what you personally saw or experienced.

9. Minimum quality & length

To keep reviews helpful to the community, reviews should contain meaningful details.

Examples of too-short reviews that may be removed:

  • "Good."

  • "Terrible."

  • "Not worth it."

Add context, such as why you felt that way.

10. Duplicate & multiple reviews

You may write one review per event you attended.

If you want to update your opinion after posting:

  • Request a review removal and submit a new version; or

  • Edit your review if the platform supports editing.

11. Moderation & removal

We may edit or remove reviews that:

  • Breach these guidelines

  • Contain potentially defamatory statements

  • Include hate speech or personal attacks

  • Contain fake or incentivised content

  • Include private or sensitive information

  • Are based on second-hand experiences

  • Are irrelevant or off-topic

We may temporarily pause reviews for an event experiencing unusual activity (e.g., review bombing, suspicious submissions).

Moderation decisions are final.

12. Reporting a review

If you believe a review is:

  • False

  • Offensive

  • Unlawful

  • Defamatory

  • Violating someone's rights

  • Manipulative or fake

You can report it using the "Report Review" feature or email us at:
